MK Meir Porush of United Torah Judaism dismissed on Sunday speculation that his party is exploring cooperation with the opposition bloc led by Gadi Eisenkot, amid reports over the past day suggesting the chareidi parties might back a minority government.

Asked by journalist Yaakov Hershkowitz whether UTJ would agree to join Eisenkot in exchange for a draft exemption, Porush rejected the premise outright: "Who would go with him?! He doesn't even call us, and he won't call us."

"What I say, I keep"

Porush's sharp response follows explicit commitments he made during the election campaign to Chabad chassidim and the chareidi-right public, in which he pledged that his faction would not lend a hand to forming a government led by the center-left camp.

Against the backdrop of speculation about various behind-the-scenes contacts, Porush made clear that his word stands and that past commitments remain in force: "What I say, I keep."
